Our travel destinations are highly impacted by the recommendations from our peers and as the category leader, MGM Grand Las Vegas wanted to ensure it was tapping fully into the power of the social web. Partnering with Vitrue, MGM Grand wanted to more fully understand the social landscape and specifically how to refine and maximize their Facebook presence.
After a comprehensive assessment, Vitrue provided key areas for immediate focus and execution of their Facebook presence. Overall Vitrue helped streamline and organize existing content to improve the user experience by creating a more intuitive UI.
Vitrue showcased “special offers” more prominently by creating its own tab. The “special offers” tab was also used as the landing page for a Facebook ad campaign and non-fans to drive awareness of key offerings and upcoming events. Vitrue consulted with MGM Grand to enable a Facebook Fan Offer available only to fans to create additional incentive for becoming a fan while providing the user great value. Other special offers were fronted to fans and non-fans alike.

All offers were designed to include share functionality to encourage the viral and organic distribution on Facebook – great way to tell a friend with an offer in hand! Each share function directs recipients back to the “special offers” tab on the MGM Grand Facebook page in an effort to increase the number of fans as we know driving meaningful volume of fans is proving to be one of the most cost effective ways market a brand.
Through Vitrue’s reporting, MGM Grand can also easily see which posts are most effective and delivers actionable insights – simply put what posts are most effective, what time of day.
Vitrue also helped surface an existing high-quality interactive flash map on its own Facebook tab. Previously several layers down on the MGM Grand corporate site, we wanted to highlight such a valuable asset on Facebook as it helps users discover all the many exciting things MGM Grand has to offer.
