Vitrue Attends Social Media Breakfast

Vitrue recently participated on a panel for the Trevelino/Keller Social Status breakfast in Atlanta. The panel included a broad range of companies specializing in social media services. Each of the panelist’s expertise complemented one another and provided a nice landscape of the industry for the attendants, eager to embrace the world of social media.

Vitrue’s Director of Strategic Services, Chad Estes, provided insight on how the Vitrue Social Media Index (SMI) is a key tool for guiding and evaluating a social media strategy. Our hosts, the PR firm of Trevelino/Keller explained how they reference Vitrue SMI scores at multiple stages of their consulting process to demonstrate how social media programs increase their clients’ stature in the blogosphere and other social arenas.

Panelists were challenged with brainstorming how their services could help Zoo Atlanta, a real world example of a brand in need of a social media strategy. The Vitrue team provided a Social Media Index report comparing Zoo Atlanta to Stone Mountain Park and a more detailed Social Share of Voice report comparing multiple Atlanta attractions, and providing a clear insights into the competitive market.

Other creative ideas, provided by Vitrue, included increasing visitor engagement with Zoo Atlanta beyond in-person visits. This could be done by creating an extension of the existing Zoo Atlanta website to incorporate user-generated content and allow visitors to share their passion for their favorite animals. Vitrue also advised Zoo Atlanta on the importance of content moderation of user generated content. This is a critical factor when dealing with a family friendly brand. Another recommendation included utilizing our Brand Watermarking technology so all approved user generated content would be marked with a Zoo Atlanta logo. This ensures Zoo Atlanta’s attribution wherever the content may be shared across the web. The Brand Watermarking will also help drive new consumers back to the online community for additional brand engagement.

A big thank you goes to Trevelino/Keller for organizing the event.

It was great for Vitrue to share the stage with other professionals in Atlanta (The Content Factor, dNeero, Luckyfish and Search Discovery) who are as passionate as we are about social media. It was a fun, informative event for all participants and we hope to contribute in future series.
